What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?

Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or obtain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

Massage therapy can be an important part of your health maintenance plan by:

Reducing or eliminating pain

Improving joint mobility

Improving circulation

Improving lymphatic drainage

Reducing muscular tension

Massage Therapists today use their knowledge of physiology and anatomy to combine traditional Swedish and modern massage therapy techniques with other therapies to treat their clients. There has been a wide variety of research, published in peer reviewed journals, proving the benefits of massage therapy for various conditions.

Massage may prove beneficial with:

Anxiety/Depression          Pregnancy

Back ache                           Post surgical rehab

Headaches/Migraines      Arthritis/bursitis

Multiple Sclerosis              Car accidents

Fibromyalgia                      Stress

How often should I get a massage?

Depending on your preventative and maintenance needs, one massage every 4 to 6 weeks is the average. If your specific condition or needs demand it, your therapist will design a treatment plan which may involve more or less frequent massages.

Do I have to take all of my clothes off?

No you don't. You can receive an effective treatment regardless of clothing you remove.  Prior the massage you will be able to remove your clothing (to your comfort level) in private, position yourself on the table and cover yourself with the top sheet. The draping will ensure your privacy and allow only the area to be massaged exposed. If at any time you feel uncomfortable with the draping, massage pressure, technique please let your massage therapist know. They will adjust so that you are comfortable and secure on the table.
